Deji served as Company Secretary and Head of Legal at a leading corporate venturing, enterprise building firm and operator of Nigeria’s first for-profit business incubator. He had started his legal career as counsel in the law offices of OlaniwunAjayi where he was involved in some of the leading corporate and project finance transactions in Oil & Gas, Manufacturing, Financial Services and Electronic Payments sectors. Deji led legal advisory services on various novel and complex transactions, including in Corporate Restructuring, Cross-Border M&A, Electronic Payment, Public Sector Reform/PPP, Corporate Venturing, ICT, Media, Sport & Entertainment. He has advised on the import and export sides of investment in West Africa under the three most important legal systems in the sub-region – Nigerian, Ghanaian and the OHADA System of Harmonized Laws of Francophone Africa. He has also served as company secretary or provided governance-leg company secretarial services to an array of companies operating in diverse markets and industries. Deji graduated with a Second Class (Upper Division) from the University of Lagos in 2001 and later obtained a Second Class (Upper Division) from the Nigerian Law School , Abuja where he obtained his BL. In addition He is a published author and has written for the leading Nigerian newspapers and industry journals on areas as diverse as Law, Finance, Economic Policy, ICT, Oil & Gas, Branding, Media, and Art & Culture. He is currently a contributor on business and economic policy to the Boardroom pages of Made Magazine and on legal and political aspects of oil & gas finance and operations to the award-winning African Oil+Gas. He is a member of the Nigerian Bar Association. He is a member of the Governing Board and Adviser on Legal and Institutionalisation matters to Committee for Relevant Art, Nigeria’s leading culture advocacy group  and he sits on the Advisory Board of Naija Music festival. He currently serves on the Legal Implementation Committee of Financial System Strategy 2020, sponsored by the Central Bank of Nigeria and works on the Credit & Mortgage as well as the Financial Markets teams of the Committee.
